Receivership Services
Receivership services are provided by Charles (Chuck) J. Mitchell, Jr., CPM, CCIM.
Receivership appointments are subject to final approval by the presiding court and are generally made at the recommendation of the plaintiff in a foreclosure lawsuit. The Receiver is technically an agent of the court and must answer to the court and all parties to the lawsuit.
Receivership services are normally provided on a time and material basis and are generally rendered in concert with other property management, leasing and brokerage.
Chuck has served as a Receiver in the 5th, 7th, 9th and 18th Circuit Courts.
Court-Appointed Receivership Services Include:
- Stabilizing property operations and ensuring tenant retention
- Development and implementation of the Property Strategic Plan
- Oversight and direction of on-site Property Management Team
- Evaluation and creation of Marketing, Advertising and Leasing Strategies
- Devising and implementing an Optimal Exit Strategy

- Broker Opinion of Values (BOVs)
- REO, including management, leasing and redevelopment
- Exclusive Disposition Agent of REO
About Chuck...Charles (Chuck) J. Mitchell, Jr. has over 27 years of experience in commercial real estate activities in Central Florida. He is co-founder and President of First Capital Property Group, Inc., a full service commercial real estate company. Prior to First Capital Property Group, he served as Vice President of CNL Properties, an affiliate of CNL Group, Inc., a multi-billion dollar real estate company. Other previous employment includes Vice President and General Manager at Morley Properties, Inc. as well as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy.
Mr. Mitchell is a graduate of the University of Florida and received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker, a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). Mr. Mitchell has experience in a vast array of areas, from development, leasing, sales and receivership to property management, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, loan workouts and consultation. Over the last 10 years, Mr. Mitchell has brokered approximately $65 million dollars of real estate in over 200 transactions. He relies on this diversity of industry experience to best serve the court as a receiver and consultant for attorney's clients. He has the unique expertise required to handle a variety of distressed situations including non-performing loans, under-performing loans and the management, leasing, liquidation and/or redevelopment of real estate owned (REO).
